What is included in my eye examination and how much is it?
Home Optical offers different types of eye examinations based on your vision and eyewear needs.
A regular eye examination for eyeglasses is $175. This examination includes a complete vision assessment to determine your eyeglass prescription, along with detailed testing to evaluate your overall eye health. Depending on your needs, testing may include fundus photography, visual-field and peripheral-vision testing, and screenings for conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts.
A contact-lens examination starts at $195 and includes the regular eye examination and eyeglass prescription, as well as the additional measurements and evaluation required for a contact-lens prescription.
The final cost of a contact-lens examination may range from $195 to $250, depending on the type of contact lenses you need. Standard spherical, or non-toric, contact lenses generally require a less complex fitting, while toric contact lenses for astigmatism require additional measurements and evaluation.
We take the time to perform a thorough examination and explain your results. Before beginning, we will let you know which type of examination is appropriate for you and confirm the cost.
Do you accept vision insurances and can I verify my benefits before purchasing?
Yes. Home Optical accepts many vision-insurance plans. Before we schedule or process any examination, eyewear purchase, or contact-lens order, we first verify your available insurance benefits.
Vision insurance may provide coverage or allowances for:
Coverage varies depending on your insurance company, plan, eligibility, benefit period, and the products or services you choose. Some plans cover the full cost of basic services, while others provide a fixed allowance, copayment, or discount.
After checking your benefits, we will explain what your insurance covers, what allowances are available, and whether you may have any out-of-pocket costs before we proceed. This allows you to understand your benefits and make an informed decision without unexpected charges.
Ordering and reordering contact lenses with your prescription.
To order or reorder contact lenses through Home Optical, you must provide a valid contact-lens prescription issued during the current year. We cannot process or release a contact-lens order without a current prescription.
Your prescription must be specifically written for contact lenses and should include the prescribed brand, lens power, base curve, diameter, and any additional measurements required for your lenses. An eyeglass prescription cannot be used to purchase contact lenses because contact lenses require a separate evaluation and fitting.
Even when reordering the same brand and prescription you previously purchased, an updated prescription is still required if the prescription on file is no longer current. If you do not have a valid contact-lens prescription, Home Optical can help you schedule a contact-lens examination and fitting before placing your order.
This policy helps ensure that the lenses you receive continue to fit properly, provide clear vision, and remain appropriate for your eye-health needs.
Do I need an appointment, or do you accept walk-ins?
Appointments are recommended so we can reserve enough time to provide you with personalized attention and properly assist with your eye examination, glasses, sunglasses, or contact-lens needs.
Walk-ins and same-day appointments may be available depending on our schedule. Mobile visits to your home or workplace must be scheduled in advance and are subject to service availability and location.
Please call (305) 861-0018 or email homeoptical777@gmail.com to schedule your appointment or check current availability.
What lens options are available, and which ones are best for my prescription and lifestyle?
Home Optical offers a variety of lens options for prescription glasses and sunglasses. These may include anti-reflective coatings, scratch-resistant treatments, blue-light filtering, transition lenses, polarized sunglass lenses, high-index lenses for stronger prescriptions, and progressive or multifocal lenses.
The right option depends on your prescription, daily activities, work environment, driving habits, comfort needs, and budget. Our optical professionals will explain the available choices and help you select the lenses that provide the best combination of clear vision, comfort, protection, and value.
How long will it take to receive my glasses, sunglasses, or contact lenses?
Turnaround time depends on your prescription, the product selected, and whether the required lenses or contact lenses are currently available.
When the necessary eyeglass or sunglass lenses are in stock, we may be able to complete your order and provide same-day delivery within our Florida service area. Same-day service is subject to availability, prescription requirements, order complexity, and delivery location.
When lenses or products must be specially ordered, the complete process usually takes approximately two weeks. Specialty prescriptions, custom lens treatments, certain frames, and contact-lens brands may require additional time.
We will provide an estimated completion and delivery date when your order is confirmed and keep you updated throughout the process.
